Pensions in payment: Your annual pension increase

24 April 2025

If you’re receiving a pension from the Scheme, your annual pension will increase from 1 May 2025. The increase you’ll receive is calculated in line with the Scheme Rules and legislation.

You can find all the details in your pension increase letter, which is now available to download from the M&S Pension Scheme Portal. This includes how your pension has increased and how the increase has been calculated.

Follow these simple steps to find your pension increase letter:

  1. Log in to your pension account on the portal – remember your login username will be something you chose and not your email address.
  2. On the portal homepage look for ‘My Details’ and click on ‘My Mailbox’.
  3. Under ‘Attachments’ click on the link next to the icon to download your letter. If you’ve clicked the link but you can’t see your letter, you should check your device’s ‘Downloads’ or ‘My Documents’ folder.

If you’ve not yet registered for the portal, it’s easy to do and gives you secure access to your pension information whenever you like. Just go to the M&S Pension Scheme Portal and click 'Register'.

Need help with registering or resetting your login? Take a look at our portal guides.

You can also find your 2024/25 payslips and P60 by clicking on the links under ‘My Pension’ on the portal homepage.

You may be aware that there are tax limits on your pension and some of these have changed recently, including abolition of the Lifetime Allowance from 6 April 2024. This is unlikely to affect you if you have already retired. However, if you’re thinking about taking benefits from other pension plans, your P60 will include details of how the benefits you’ve received from the M&S Pension Scheme compare with the new tax measures. You can find out more on our tax limits webpage.
