On 1 September 2022, the High Court dismissed the judicial review of the Government and UK Statistics Authority’s (UKSA) decision to effectively replace the Retail Price Index (RPI) with the Consumer Price Index (CPIH) in 2030, which had been sought by the Trustee and the trustees of the BT Pension Scheme and Ford Pension Schemes.
The Trustee, alongside the other trustees, sought permission from the judge to appeal his judgment and the application was rejected.
After careful consideration, we have decided not to pursue an application to the Court of Appeal. This means this court case against the Government and UKSA will not be taken any further.
